Privacy policy
Short version: your Grok conversations are turned into files on your own computer and are never uploaded. We only handle a little account data — your Google email and your plan — and only so a paid plan can follow you. Our website uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic.
What the extension does
Grok to PDF, Docx, Markdown exporter adds an “Export” button to Grok (grok.com). When you click it, the extension reads the conversation that’s already open in front of you and turns it into a PDF, a Word (.docx) file, or Markdown, then saves that file to your computer. The first exports are free; after that a paid plan unlocks unlimited exports.
What we collect
- An anonymous install ID — a random token created on install. It links a purchase to your copy of the extension and lets our server tell you whether your plan is active.
- Your Google account email, name and Google account ID — only if you choose “Sign in with Google”. They let your plan survive a reinstall or a new computer. We request only the basic
openid, emailandprofilescopes; we never get access to your Gmail, Drive or anything else in your Google account. - Your plan and order status — which plan you bought, when it renews or ends, and the PayPro order ID.
- Your IP address, for the free tier — the number of free exports is counted per IP address on our server, so reinstalling the extension doesn’t reset it. We count exports; we never receive what you exported.
We don’t receive the contents of your chats, the files you export, or your browsing history.
Analytics
This website (grok-to-pdf.com) uses Google Analytics to understand overall traffic — things like which pages are visited and roughly how many people visit. This is standard web analytics for the marketing site, separate from the extension, and it never has access to your Grok conversations or exported files.
Google Analytics uses cookies and may collect information such as your IP address, browser, device type, and pages viewed. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
What stays on your device
Your conversations and your files. The conversation is read, cleaned up, and rendered into a file right inside your browser, and the finished file is handed to Chrome’s normal download manager. Your selection of messages and chats, your settings, and your Google sign-in tokens are kept in the extension’s local storage.
Payments
Payments are processed by PayPro Global, our reseller and merchant of record. You enter your card or other payment details on PayPro’s checkout page, not in the extension, and we never see them. PayPro tells our server that an order was paid, together with your install ID and the email used at checkout. PayPro’s handling of your data is covered by its own privacy policy.
Network requests
- grok.com, assets.grok.com — to read the conversation you’re exporting and fetch the images Grok generated in it, so they appear in your file.
- pay.svyat.site — our subscription server: checks your plan, counts free exports, and links a purchase or a Google sign-in to your install ID.
- accounts.google.com, oauth2.googleapis.com, openidconnect.googleapis.com — only when you sign in with Google, to complete sign-in and read your email and name.
- store.payproglobal.com — opened in a new tab only when you choose to buy a plan.
Your conversation itself is never sent anywhere.
Permissions, in plain English
- Access to grok.com — so the export button and reader can work on the page you’re looking at.
- Access to pay.svyat.site — to check your plan and count free exports.
- Tabs — to briefly open and close helper tabs while building your file, and to open the checkout page.
- Downloads — to save the finished PDF / Word / Markdown file to your computer.
- Debugger — Chrome only lets extensions create a real, print-quality PDF through this API. It’s attached only to the extension’s own temporary tab and detached the moment the file is ready — never to your Grok tab or anything else.
- Storage — to keep your settings, install ID, plan status and sign-in tokens on your computer.
- Identity — to show Google’s own sign-in window when you choose to sign in.
Third parties
We don’t sell user data and don’t use it for advertising. Account data is shared only with PayPro Global to process and support your purchase, and with Google when you sign in. Our website also uses Google Analytics, which processes standard traffic data under Google's privacy policy.
Keeping and deleting your data
Account and order data is kept while you have a plan and as long as needed for tax and accounting records. To have your email and plan data deleted, email us at the address below. Removing the extension deletes everything it stored locally.
Children
The extension isn’t directed at children and doesn’t knowingly collect anything from anyone, regardless of age.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date above.
